You know the tune, "Mommy Wow! I'm a big kid now!"
Well, maybe I'm not a big kid, but I sure am growing up fast!
I decided 2 weeks ago I'd start potty training myself. Mom and dad weren't pushing it since the new baby is coming in 5 weeks, but I thought I'd see what it was all about. So after my nap I told mom I was going to sit on my "big girl potty" so I walked into the bathroom, shut the door on mom, pulled my pants down and took my diaper off. Mom said she was a little nervous what she would find when she opened the door 5 min. later, but low and behold I left a wet present in the potty for her. HA - take that lady! Mom and Dad were really excited about my accomplishment.
Then, later the same day I went again before my bath. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning I go in and go and sometimes I don't. I guess I don't know what's so "cool" about it yet. You see, when I'm playing with my toys why would I want to stop and take the time to go potty when my diaper will catch it all?! Don't worry, all in time.
Also, let's talk a bit more about dinner time. I can't remember if I've taught you about the new tradition we have here at our table, but I'll refresh your memory incase you've forgotten or I just haven't told you yet. I have started a new tradition which Grandma and Grandpa will soon be introduced to....to put it mildly, they will be experts at the Pledge of Allegiance by the time they leave from their visit. I require that we say our normal dinner prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance (which you have to say REALLY LOUD) and then the prayer we say at daycare before mealtime. Yes, your meal will have plenty of time to cool down with our new routine, but heck, I can now say we are very patriotic!
Other than that, life is moving along in Minnesota. We saw a few snow flurries last Thursday for all of 5 min. and it hardly counted, but they were flurries all the same.
I'm growing up fast. I can now count to 10 and am working on getting to 20. Also, I'm am obsessed with puzzles and my new favorites are the Mickey, Big Bird and Farm one. I have to help mom and dad with them because they are easily confused.
Oh yes, one last thing. I decided since the new baby is coming around Christmas that I should learn how to bake. So, here are a few pics of my masterpieces....you know it looks tasty. Just remember, you can never have too much flour and taste tests throughout the baking process are absolutely necessary....the cookie cutter of choice, Mickey (because he's my favorite!).
Well, that's all for now.
Love Maddie
